In this clip taken from discourse titled, "Sensitivity with Sound", Nithyananda beautifully explains to us that all sounds in the universe can be reduced to 52 syllables in the Sanskrit language. He talks about the phonetic importance of Sanskrit. This is why, mantras when chanted, even though one may not understand the chant, will still receive tremendous benefits due to vibrations created by chanting.
